William Mostyn was the son of Thomas ap Richard and Jane Griffith.2 He married, firstly, Margaret 'Wen' ferch Robert, daughter of Robert ap Hywel, before 10 April 1541.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Brereton, daughter of Sir William Brereton and Jane Warburton, after 4 October 1556.1 He died on 9 September 1576.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Flintshire from 1553 to 1554.1 He gained the rank of officer from 1554 to 1554 in the Horse Guards.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Caernarvonshire from 1556 to 1557.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Flintshire from 1560 to 1561.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Flintshire from 1565 to 1566.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Flintshire from 1570 to 1571.1 He lived at Mostyn, Flintshire, Wales.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Caernarvonshire in 1576.1

Ursula Goodman was the daughter of William Goodman.2 She married Sir Thomas Mostyn, son of William Mostyn and Margaret 'Wen' ferch Robert, on 4 October 1556.1 She died in 1578.1
