Reverend Sir William Moncreiff, 7th Bt.1

     Reverend Sir William Moncreiff, 7th Bt. was the son of Reverend Archibald Moncreiff and Catherine Halliday.2 He married Catherine Wellwood, daughter of Robert Wellwood of Garvock, before 1749.1 He died on 9 December 1767.1
     He was Minister at Blackford, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Moncreiff [N.S., 1626] circa 1750.1

     Catherine Wellwood is the daughter of Robert Wellwood of Garvock.2 She married Reverend Sir William Moncreiff, 7th Bt., son of Reverend Archibald Moncreiff and Catherine Halliday, before 1749.1
     From before 1749, her married name became Moncreiff.

Reverend Sir Henry Wellwood-Moncreiff, 8th Bt.1

     Reverend Sir Henry Wellwood-Moncreiff, 8th Bt. was born on 7 February 1750.1 He was the son of Reverend Sir William Moncreiff, 7th Bt. and Catherine Wellwood.2 He married Susan Robertson Barclay, daughter of James Robertson Barclay of Keavil, on 16 November 1772.1 He died on 9 August 1827 at age 77.1
     He was also known as Henry Moncreiff.1 In 1752 his name was legally changed to Henry Wellwood-Moncreiff under the term's of his great-uncle's deed of gift.1 He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Moncreiff [N.S., 1626] on 9 December 1767.1 He was educated at Glasgow College, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 He was Minister in 1771 at Blackford, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 He was Minister in 1775 at St. Cuthbert's, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He was Chaplain to the Prince of Wales (later King George IV) in 1785.1 He graduated from Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, in 1785 with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He was Moderator General of the Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 1785.1

     Susan Moncreiff was born in September 1752.1 She was the daughter of Reverend Sir William Moncreiff, 7th Bt. and Catherine Wellwood.2 She married Reverend William Paul on 7 April 1783.1 She died on 21 November 1828 at age 76.1
     From 7 April 1783, her married name became Paul.

     Susan Robertson Barclay was the daughter of James Robertson Barclay of Keavil.2 She married Reverend Sir Henry Wellwood-Moncreiff, 8th Bt., son of Reverend Sir William Moncreiff, 7th Bt. and Catherine Wellwood, on 16 November 1772.1 She died in 1826.1
     From 16 November 1772, her married name became Wellwood-Moncreiff.

     He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)1 He was a practising barrister.1 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was King's Advocate of the Admirallty Court, Malta.1
