     Rev. Sir William Isaac Macartney, 2nd Bt. was born on 25 October 1780.2 He was the son of Sir John Macartney, 1st Bt. and Anne Scriven.2 He married Ellen Barrington, daughter of Sir John Barrington, 9th Bt., on 28 May 1818.2 He died on 31 July 1867 at age 86.2
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1801 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1812 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Macartney, of Lish, co. Armagh [I., 1799] on 29 May 1812.2 He was Rector at Desertegny, Ireland.2
