Emma Mary Fitzpatrick was born illegitimately. She was the daughter of John FitzPatrick, 2nd Earl of Upper Ossory and Elizabeth Wilson.2,3 She married Robert Vernon, 1st Baron Lyvedon of Lyvedon, son of Robert Percy Smith and Caroline Maria Vernon, on 15 July 1823.1 She died on 22 September 1882.1
From 15 July 1823, her married name became Smith.1 After her marriage, Emma Mary Fitzpatrick was styled as Baroness Lyveden of Lyveden on 28 June 1859. From 14 July 1859, her married name became Vernon.1

Fitzpatrick Henry Vernon, 2nd Baron Lyveden of Lyveden was born on 27 April 1824.1 He was the son of Robert Vernon, 1st Baron Lyvedon of Lyvedon and Emma Mary Fitzpatrick.2 He married, firstly, Lady Albreda Elizabeth Fitzwilliam, daughter of Charles William Fitzwilliam, 5th Earl Fitzwilliam and Hon. Mary Dundas, on 21 June 1853.1 He married, secondly, Julia Kate Emary, daughter of Albert Emary, on 15 October 1896.1 He died on 25 February 1900 at age 75, without issue.1
