Mildred Catherine Hawley1

     Mildred Catherine Hawley was the daughter of Sir Joseph Henry Hawley, 3rd Bt. and Sara Diana Crosbie.1 She married Maj.-Gen. Barrington Bulkeley Campbell, 3rd Baron Blythswood, son of Archibald Campbell, 17th of Mains and 12th of Blythswood and Caroline Agnes Dick, on 7 July 1869.1 She died on 13 August 1902.1
     Her married name became Douglas-Campbell.

     Sir Joseph Henry Hawley, 3rd Bt. was born on 27 October 1814.2 He was the son of Sir Henry Hawley, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Elizabeth Shaw.3 He married Sara Diana Crosbie, daughter of General Sir John Gustavus Crosbie and Frances Page Thomas, on 18 June 1839.1 He died on 20 April 1875 at age 60.2
     Sir Joseph Henry Hawley, 3rd Bt. also went by the nick-name of the 'racing Baronet'.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Hawley, of Leybourne Grange, co. Kent [G.B., 1795] on 29 March 1831.2

     Sara Diana Crosbie was the daughter of General Sir John Gustavus Crosbie and Frances Page Thomas.2 She married Sir Joseph Henry Hawley, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Henry Hawley, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Elizabeth Shaw, on 18 June 1839.1 She died on 9 March 1881.1
     Her married name became Hawley.

     General Sir John Gustavus Crosbie was the son of General Charles Crosbie and Sarah Thompson.2 He married Frances Page Thomas, daughter of George Thomas and Frances Page, in 1802.1 He died on 24 August 1843.1
     He was commissioned in 1780.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1783 in the 67th Foot.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1794 in the 22nd Foot.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Hanoverian Order (G.C.H.) in 1837.1 He gained the rank of General in the Army.1 He lived at Watergate House, Up Marden, Surrey, EnglandG.1

Lt.-Col. Archibald Campbell, 1st Baron Blythswood1

     Lt.-Col. Archibald Campbell, 1st Baron Blythswood was born on 22 February 1835 at Florence, ItalyG.1 He was the son of Archibald Campbell, 17th of Mains and 12th of Blythswood and Caroline Agnes Dick.1 He married Hon. Augusta Clementina Carrington, daughter of Robert John Carrington, 2nd Baron Carrington of Upton and Hon. Charlotte Augusta Annabella Drummond-Willoughby, on 7 July 1864 at Whitehall Chapel, Whitehall, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 8 July 1908 at age 73 at Bytheswood House, Renfrewshire, ScotlandG, without issue.2 He was buried on 11 July 1908 at Inchinnan, ScotlandG.2 His will was proven (by probate), with personalty at about £91,000, exclusive of large settled estates.2
     He was given the name of Archibald Campbell Douglas at birth.1 In 1838 his name was legally changed to Archibald Campbell Campbell.1 He fought in the Crimean War in 1855, where he was severely wounded.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Renfrewshire between 1873 and 1874.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Scots Fusilier Guards.1 He was created 1st Baronet Campbell [U.K.] on 4 May 1880.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Renfrewshire, West Division between 1885 and 1892.1 He held the office of Grand Master of the Freemasons [Scotland] between 1885 and 1892.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by University of Glasgow, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG, in 1888.1 He was created 1st Baron Blythswood, co. Renfrew [U.K.] on 24 August 1892, with a special remainder to five of his younger brothers.1 He was President of the Highland and Agricultural Society [Scotland] between 1896 and 1897.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Renfrewshire between 1904 and 1908.1 He was admitted to Freeman of the City of Glasgow.2
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3

     Archibald Campbell, 17th of Mains and 12th of Blythswood was born circa 1809.1 He was the son of Colin Douglas and Sophia Armine Boydell.2 He married Caroline Agnes Dick, daughter of Mungo Dick.1 He died on 11 July 1868.1
     He was given the name of Archibald Douglas at birth.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 68th Regiment.2 In 1838 his name was legally changed to Archibald Campbell on inheriting the estate of Blythswood from his cousin, Archibald Campbell.1 He lived at Mains, Dunbartonshire, ScotlandG.1
     He also had one other daughter.2
