Torquil Bright MacLeod, 16th of Raasay was born on 1 November 1889.1 He was the son of Loudoun Hector MacLeod, 15th of Raasay and Francis Laura Bright.2 He married Helen Christie Nicholas, daughter of George Clarence Nicholas, on 30 January 1918.1 He died on 28 April 1968 at age 78.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Australian Light Horse.1 He fought in the First World War, in Gallipoli and the Middle East.1 In 1934 he succeeded his father as 15th lineal representative of MacLeod of Raasay.1 He was commanding officer of the 22nd Australian Light Horse and 22nd Motor Regiment (Australia.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was President of the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania between 1948 and 1949.1 He lived at Richmond Park, Richmond, Tasmania, Australia.1
