     Jane Stewart Shannan was the daughter of Alexander Shannan.2 She married James Stevenson, son of James Stevenson and Margaret Cochran, in 1824.1 She died in 1854.1
     From 1824, her married name became Stevenson.

Nathaniel Stevenson1

     Nathaniel Stevenson was born on 12 June 1787.1 He was the son of James Stevenson and Margaret Cochran.2 He married Elizabeth Carlile, daughter of James Carlile, in 1820.1 He died on 8 May 1867 at age 79.1
     He held the office of Burgess of Glasgow in 1817.1 He was a partner of Oswald Stevenson & Company.1

     Hew Stevenson was born in July 1790.1 He was the son of James Stevenson and Margaret Cochran.2 He died on 25 January 1861 at age 70, unmarried.1
     He held the office of Burgess of Glasgow in 1816.1 He was merchant in Glasgow and Liverpool with the firm of Stevenson & Martin.1 He was a merchant with with Dickson, Gilchrist & Company before 1856 at Australia.1

William Stevenson1

     William Stevenson was born on 1 September 1795.1 He was the son of James Stevenson and Margaret Cochran.2 He married, firstly, Catherine Cochrane in 1823.1 He married, secondly, Louisa Rudd, daughter of Lt.-Col. John Rudd, in 1829.1 He died on 25 June 1854 at age 58, further issue.1
     He was a cotton broker and shipping agent in 1820 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England.1 He was a partner of Jarrow Chemical Company.1
