Catherine Gayer1

     Catherine Gayer was the daughter of Sir John Gayer and Catherine Hopkins.1 She married Sir Robert Abdy, 1st Bt., son of Anthony Abdy and Abigail Campbell, before 1643.1 She died on 6 September 1662.1 She was buried on 25 September 1662 at Stapleford Abbots, Essex, EnglandG.1
     From before 1643, her married name became Abdy.1

     Sir John Gayer married Catherine Hopkins, daughter of Sampson Hopkins.
     He held the office of Lord Mayor of London from 1646 to 1647.1

     Sir John Abdy, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1643.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Abdy, 1st Bt. and Catherine Gayer.1 He married Jane Nicholas, daughter of George Nicholas and Anne Denton, on 10 May 1687 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 He died in 1691.1 He was buried at Stapleford Abbots, Essex, EnglandG.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 9 March 1691/92, and again 7 July 1721.1
     He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He was admitted to Middle Temple.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Abdy, of Albyns [in Stapleford Abbots], Essex [E., 1660] in 1670.1

     Jane Nicholas was baptised on 26 March 1666.1 She was the daughter of George Nicholas and Anne Denton.1 She married Sir John Abdy, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Robert Abdy, 1st Bt. and Catherine Gayer, on 10 May 1687 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 She died in 1721.1 She was buried at Stapleford Abbots, Essex, EnglandG.1
     From 10 May 1687, her married name became Abdy.1
