     He was Attaché to Berlin between 1911 and 1914.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.¹

     Vivienne de Watteville was the daughter of Bernard de Watteville and Florence Emily Beddoes.¹ She married George Gerard Goschen, son of Sir William Edward Goschen, 1st Bt. and Harriet Hosta Clarke, on 23 July 1930.¹ She died on 27 June 1957.¹
     From 23 July 1930, her married name became Goschen.¹
