Lt.-Col. Sir Merrik Raymond Burrell, 7th Bt. was born on 14 May 1877 at Knepp Castle, West Grinstead, Sussex, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Raymond Burrell, 6th Bt. and Etheldreda Mary Loder.2 He married, firstly, Wilhelmina Louisa Winans, daughter of Walter Winans, on 11 February 1902.2 He and Wilhelmina Louisa Winans were divorced in 1907.2 He married, secondly, Coralie Adelaide Mervyn Porter, daughter of John Porter Porter and Josephine Henrietta Lloyd, on 14 August 1908.2 He and Coralie Adelaide Mervyn Porter were divorced in 1927.2 He died on 22 December 1957 at age 80.2
He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1901.2 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Raymond, of Valentine House, co. Essex [G.B., 1774] on 6 September 1899.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Royal Dragoons.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Sussex in 1918.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel and later Inspector of Remounts in 1918.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for West Sussex.2 He was awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Agricultural Society for distinguished services to agriculture.2 He held the office of President of the Royal Agricultural Society in 1936.2

Sir Merrik Raymond Burrell, 7th Bt., son of Sir Charles Raymond Burrell, 6th Bt. and Etheldreda Mary Loder, on 14 August 1908.1 She and Lt.-Col.
