     Thomas Evans Lees was born on 2 July 1829.1 He was the son of James Lees and Charlotte Evans.2 He married Bernarda Maria Elisa Turnbull, daughter of Elliot Bay Turnbull, on 15 September 1858.2 He died on 13 January 1879 at age 49.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 31st Lancashire Rifle Volunteers.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lancashire.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.2 He lived at Woodfield, Oldham, Lancashire, England.2
