     Sir George Washington Baxter, 1st and last Bt. was the son of Rt. Hon. William Edward Baxter and Janet Carr Scott.2 He married Edith Fagan, daughter of Maj-Gen. James Lawtie Fagan and Eliza Makgill Ogilvy-Dalgleish, on 20 February 1889.1 He died on 26 November 1926.1
     He was created 1st Baronet Baxter, of Irivereighty, co. Forfar [U.K.] in 1918.
