     Lt.-Gen. Sir Edward Dacre Howard-Vyse was born on 27 November 1905. He was the son of Colonel Cecil Howard-Vyse.1 He married Mary Bridget Willoughby, daughter of Colonel Hon. Claude Henry Comaraich Willoughby and Sybil Louise Murray, on 20 July 1940.1 He died in 1992.2
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1
