     Lt.-Col. Sir Robert Hay of Linplum, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir James Hay of Linplum, 1st Bt. and Jean Scott.1 He died on 20 December 1751, unmarried.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Scots Greys.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Hay, of Linplum [N.S., 1667] in 1704.1 On his death, his baronetcy expired.1
