     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)1

     Patrick Robert Doyne was born on 9 October 1936.2 He is the son of Lt.-Col. Robert Harry Doyne.1 He married Sarah Caroline Stirling, daughter of Brigadier James Erskine Stirling and Evelyn Alice Beatrix Cavendish, on 7 December 1963.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was commissioned in 1955, in the service of the The Rifle Brigade.2 He retired from the military in 1969, with the rank of Captain, late of the The Rifle Brigade.1 He was a merchant broker with John F. Seyfried & Sons Ltd in 1974.2 He lived in 1976 at Northend Manor, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, EnglandG.2
