     William Adair of Kinhilt was the son of Rolland Adair.2 He married Euphamie Stewart of Garlies, daughter of Sir Alexander Stewart, 4th of Garlies and Elizabeth Kennedy.3 He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, EnglandG, killed in action.4
     He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.1

     Uchtred Macdowall, 8th of Garthland was the son of Thomas Macdowall, younger of Garthland and Isobell Stewart.2 He married Marion Stewart, daughter of Sir Alexander Stewart, 4th of Garlies and Elizabeth Kennedy.1 He died circa 1531.1
     In 1512 he received a tack (lease) of lands from the Crown and again in 1517.1 In 1513 he was served heir to his grandfather.1

     John Macdowall, 9th of Garthland was the son of Uchtred Macdowall, 8th of Garthland and Marion Stewart.2 He married Margaret Campbell, daughter of Finlay Campbell of Corswall.1 He died on 10 September 1547, killed in action.2
     With his wife, he had half the barony of Corswall by charter under the Great Seal of Mary, Queen of Scots and he then acquired the other half from the other coheir.1 He fought in the Battle of Pinkie on 10 September 1547.1
