     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Artillery in Ireland.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Clare in 1770.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Clare in 1776.1 He lived at Fort Anne, County Clare, Ireland.1
