     From 10 March 1922, her married name became Whitson. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Edinburgh in 1933.1

     Sir Thomas Barnby Whitson was the son of Thomas Whitson.2 He married Mabel Christian Forbes, daughter of George Edward Forbes and Louisa Lillias Trotter, on 10 March 1922.1 He died on 1 October 1948.1
     He was registered as a Chartered Accountant (C.A.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Edinburgh (F.R.S.E.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 He held the office of Lord Provost of Edinburgh between 1929 and 1932.1

     Captain James Arthur Forbes was born on 25 February 1831.1 He was the son of George Forbes and Mary Hay.2 He married Fearne Jemima Kinnear, daughter of James Kinnear, on 10 July 1867.1 He died on 24 June 1905 at age 74.1
     He gained the rank of Burma War in 1852.1 He fought in the Crimean War between 1854 and 1856, Baltic Campaign.1 He held the office of County Alderman (C.A.) for Northumberland.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Berwickshire.1

     Fearne Jemima Kinnear was the daughter of James Kinnear.2 She married, firstly, W. E. Aytoun before 1867.1 She married, secondly, Captain James Arthur Forbes, son of George Forbes and Mary Hay, on 10 July 1867.1 She died on 25 January 1904.1
     From before 1867, her married name became Aytoun.1 From 10 July 1867, her married name became Forbes.
