     Mabel Christian Forbes was the daughter of George Edward Forbes and Louisa Lillias Trotter.² She married Sir Thomas Barnby Whitson, son of Thomas Whitson, on 10 March 1922.¹ She died in 1971.¹
     From 10 March 1922, her married name became Whitson. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Edinburgh in 1933.¹

     Thomas Whitson lived at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He was registered as a Chartered Accountant (C.A.)¹

     Sir Thomas Barnby Whitson was the son of Thomas Whitson.² He married Mabel Christian Forbes, daughter of George Edward Forbes and Louisa Lillias Trotter, on 10 March 1922.¹ He died on 1 October 1948.¹
     He was registered as a Chartered Accountant (C.A.)¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Edinburgh (F.R.S.E.)¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He held the office of Lord Provost of Edinburgh between 1929 and 1932.¹

     Louis Forbes was born on 13 January 1830.¹ He was the son of George Forbes and Mary Hay.² He married Emma Frances Colbeck, daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry Colbeck, on 30 April 1853.¹ He died on 2 October 1909 at age 79.¹
     He was with the Madras Civil Service.¹

     Emma Frances Colbeck was born circa July 1833.² She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry Colbeck.³ She married Louis Forbes, son of George Forbes and Mary Hay, on 30 April 1853.¹ She died on 16 February 1900.¹
     From 30 April 1853, her married name became Forbes.

     Florence Mary Emma Forbes was the daughter of Louis Forbes and Emma Frances Colbeck.² She died on 13 November 1926, unmarried.¹

     Captain James Arthur Forbes was born on 25 February 1831.¹ He was the son of George Forbes and Mary Hay.² He married Fearne Jemima Kinnear, daughter of James Kinnear, on 10 July 1867.¹ He died on 24 June 1905 at age 74.¹
     He gained the rank of Burma War in 1852.¹ He fought in the Crimean War between 1854 and 1856, Baltic Campaign.¹ He held the office of County Alderman (C.A.) for Northumberland.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Berwickshire.¹

     Fearne Jemima Kinnear was the daughter of James Kinnear.² She married, firstly, W. E. Aytoun before 1867.¹ She married, secondly, Captain James Arthur Forbes, son of George Forbes and Mary Hay, on 10 July 1867.¹ She died on 25 January 1904.¹
     From before 1867, her married name became Aytoun.¹ From 10 July 1867, her married name became Forbes.
