Douglas Hewitt Hacking, 1st Baron Hacking was born on 4 August 1884.1 He was the son of Joshua Hacking and Eliza Simpson Boyle.2 He married Margery Allen Bolton, daughter of Henry Hargreaves Bolton, on 15 April 1909.1

Edgar Bolton Hacking was born on 31 May 1912.1 He was the son of Douglas Hewitt Hacking, 1st Baron Hacking and Margery Allen Bolton.2 He married, firstly, Winifred Mary Kelly, daughter of John Christie Kelly, on 3 April 1943.1 He and Winifred Mary Kelly were divorced in 1950.1 He married, secondly, Evangeline Grace Shearing, daughter of Percival Burtsal Shearing, on 5 July 1950.2 He died on 1 December 1998 at age 86.2
