     Hon. George Joachim Goschen was born on 18 November 1893.¹ He was the son of George Joachim Goschen, 2nd Viscount Goschen and Lady Margaret Evelyn Gathorne-Hardy.² He died on 16 January 1916 at age 22 at Kut-al-Amara, Iraq, from wounds received in action.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 5th Battalion, East Kent Regiment.¹

     Hon. Cicely Winifred Goschen was born on 29 April 1899.¹ She was the daughter of George Joachim Goschen, 2nd Viscount Goschen and Lady Margaret Evelyn Gathorne-Hardy.² She married Major Melville Edward Bertram Portal, son of Brig.-Gen. Sir Bertram Percy Portal and Hon. Margaret Louisa Littleton, on 27 November 1926.² She died in 1980.²
     From 27 November 1926, her married name became Portal.²

     Major Melville Edward Bertram Portal was born on 1 June 1900.² He is the son of Brig.-Gen. Sir Bertram Percy Portal and Hon. Margaret Louisa Littleton.² He married Hon. Cicely Winifred Goschen, daughter of George Joachim Goschen, 2nd Viscount Goschen and Lady Margaret Evelyn Gathorne-Hardy, on 27 November 1926.² He died in 1971.²
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.² He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.² He was Commander of the 17th Lancers in 1921.² He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to his father-in-law the Governor of Madras between 1924 and 1929.² He gained the rank of Major in 1927 in the Coldstream Guards.² He held the office of Viceroy and Acting Governor-General of India in 1929.² Between 1935 and 1945 seconded by the Royal Malay Regiment.² He was a prisoner between 1942 and 1945 at Changi Prison, Changi, Singapore.² He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1946.² He held the office of Queen's Messenger between 1951 and 1961.²

     Hon. Sir William Henry Goschen was born on 7 June 1870.¹ He was the son of George Joachim Goschen, 1st Viscount Goschen and Lucy Dalley.² He married Geraldine Elizabeth Mellor, daughter of Rt. Hon. John William Mellor and Carole Paget, on 25 July 1896.¹ He died on 16 June 1943 at age 73.¹
     He was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.)¹ He was Commissioner of Public Works Loan Board.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.)¹ He was partner of Goschen & Cunliffe.¹

     Edwin Henry Shuttleworth was born on 20 March 1925 at Benmore, Southland, New Zealand.¹ He married Berys Izola Gerken, daughter of David Ivan Gerken and Isobel Izola Hodge, on 20 May 1952 at New Zealand.¹
