He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Derry [Ireland] in 1634.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for the Counties of Derry, Donegal and Tyrone [Ireland] between 1656 and 1658.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Londonderry [Ireland] between 1661 and 1666.1 He was appointed Knight in 1664.1 He was created 1st Baronet Beresford, of Coleraine, co. Londonderry [Ireland] on 5 May 1665.1

Sir Henry Campbell de La Poer Beresford-Peirse, 5th Bt. was born on 24 April 1905.1 He was the son of Sir Henry Bernard de la Poer Beresford-Peirse, 4th Bt. and Lady Mabel Marjorie Campbell.1 He married Margaret Grant, daughter of Frank Morrison Seafield Grant, on 19 April 1932. He died on 11 August 1972 at age 67.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1927 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1929 with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry (B.Sc.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the Lovat Scouts.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Edinburgh (F.R.S.E.)1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Beresford, of Bagnall, co. Elizabeth Lucas was the daughter of Davis Lucas.1 She married Major Sir George de la Poer Beresford, 2nd Bt., son of Admiral Sir John de la Poer Beresford, 1st Bt. and Mary Molloy, on 1 March 1846.1 She died on 23 December 1898.1

Thomas de Berkeley, 1st Lord Berkeley was born in 1245 at Berkeley, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Sir Maurice de Berkeley and Isabel FitzRoy.1 He married Joan de Ferrers, daughter of William de Ferrers, 5th Earl of Derby and Margaret de Quincy, in 1267.2 He died on 23 July 1321 at Berkeley, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.2
Thomas de Berkeley, 1st Lord Berkeley also went by the nick-name of Thomas 'the Wise'.1 He fought in the Battle of Evesham.1 He gained the title of Lord de Berkeley [feudal baron] in 1281.1 He was created 1st Lord Berkeley [England by writ] on 28 June 1283, which was treated in the Mowbray Case (1877) as creating an hereditary peerage.1 He was a Commissioner to examine the claims to the crown of Scotland in June 1292.2 He was created 1st Baron Berkeley [England by writ] on 24 June 1295, which is treated as creating the title Lord Berkeley.1 He was on an Embassy to France in January 1296.2 He held the office of Vice-Constable of England in 1297.2 He fought in the Battle of Falkirk on 22 July 1298.2 He fought in the siege of Carlaverock in July 1300.2 He was on an Embassy to Pope Clement V in July 1307.2 He fought in the Battle of Bannockburn on 24 June 1314, where he was taken prisoner, and paid a large sum for his ransom.2

Maurice de Berkeley, 2nd Lord Berkeley was born in April 1271.1,2 He was the son of Thomas de Berkeley, 1st Lord Berkeley and Joan de Ferrers.1 He married, firstly, Eva la Zouche, daughter of Eon la Zouche and Millicent de Cauntelo, in 1289.3 He married, secondly, Lady Isabel de Clare, daughter of Gilbert de Clare, 6th Earl of Gloucester and Hertford and Alice de Lusignan, circa 1316.3 He died on 31 May 1326 at age 55 at Wallingford Castle, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He was buried at Wallingford Castle, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He was buried at St. Augustine's, Bristol, EnglandG.3
