He married Maria Therese Baronin Mayr von Melnhof, daughter of Freidrich Adalbert Baron Mayr von Melnhof and Maria Anna von Meran, in 1949. He died on 20 June 1999 at age 74 at Gutenstein, Austria.¹

     Gabriele Baronin Mayr von Melnhof was born in 1928. She is the daughter of Freidrich Adalbert Baron Mayr von Melnhof and Maria Anna von Meran. She married Ernst Wagner-Schilling in 1953.
