     John William Morrison, 2nd Viscount Dunrossil was born on 22 May 1926.1 He was the son of William Shepherd Morrison, 1st Viscount Dunrossil and Catherine Allison Swan.2 He married, firstly, Mavis Dawn Spencer-Payne, daughter of Dr. Arthur Llewellyn Spencer-Payne, on 3 July 1951.1 He and Mavis Dawn Spencer-Payne were divorced in 1969.1 He married, secondly, Diana Mary Cunliffe Vise, daughter of C. M. Vise, in 1969.1 He died on 22 March 2000 at age 73.1
