Reverend Maurice Curteis Elphinstone was born on 27 January 1874.1 He was the son of Sir Howard Warburton Elphinstone, 3rd Bt. and Constance Mary Alexander Hankey.2 He married Christiana Georgiana Almond, daughter of Dr. Hely Hutchinson Almond and Eleanor Frances Tristram, on 30 July 1908.1 He died on 14 May 1969 at age 95.1
