Hugh Cathcart Dobbs1

     Hugh Cathcart Dobbs was born on 19 August 1884.1 He was the son of Colonel George Cadell Dobbs and Sophia de Moleyns Moore.2 He married Nina Joyce Moore, daughter of E. E. Moore, on 2 August 1915.1 He died on 25 May 1918 at age 33 at PersiaG, killed in action.1
     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 3/124th Baluchistan Regiment.1

     Nina Joyce Moore was the daughter of E. E. Moore.2 She married, firstly, Hugh Cathcart Dobbs, son of Colonel George Cadell Dobbs and Sophia de Moleyns Moore, on 2 August 1915.1 She married, secondly, Garrard Jacob, son of William John Jacob, on 12 April 1919.1
     From 2 August 1915, her married name became Dobbs. From 12 April 1919, her married name became Jacob.1

     Annie Dobbs is the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Richard Stewart Dobbs and Jane Margaret Cathcart.2 She married General Alexander Charles Hay, son of William Hay and Mary Garstin, in 1860.1

General Alexander Charles Hay1

     General Alexander Charles Hay was born on 24 February 1829.1 He was the son of William Hay and Mary Garstin.1 He married Annie Dobbs, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Richard Stewart Dobbs and Jane Margaret Cathcart, in 1860.2 He died on 8 May 1893 at age 64.1
     He gained the rank of General in the Madras Army.1
