John Dill was born in 1726.1 He was the son of Francis Dill and Catherine Anderson.2 He married Susan McClure, daughter of Richard McClure, on 10 October 1764.1 He died on 4 April 1804.1
He purchased Springfield, acquired from Andrew Patton between 1768 and 1770.1 He lived at Springfield, Fanad, County Donegal, IrelandG.1 He also had two daughters.1
