Ian David Patrick Macpherson, 3rd Baron Strathcarron was born on 31 March 1949.1 He is the son of David William Anthony Blyth Macpherson, 2nd Baron Strathcarron and Diana Hawtrey Deane.2 He married Gillian Rosamund Allison, daughter of Frank Allison, on 13 July 1974.1

Gillian Rosamund Allison is the daughter of Frank Allison.2 She married Ian David Patrick Macpherson, 3rd Baron Strathcarron, son of David William Anthony Blyth Macpherson, 2nd Baron Strathcarron and Diana Hawtrey Deane, on 13 July 1974.1
