     He was chairman of De Beers in 1985.2 He was chairman of Anglo American in 1990.2

Thomas Walter Brand, 3rd Viscount Hampden of Glynde and Lady Katharine Mary Montagu Douglas Scott.1 He married Hon. Imogen Alice Rhys, daughter of Walter FitzUryan Rhys, 7th Baron Dynevor of Dynevor and Lady Margaret Child-Villiers, on 14 July 1936.2 He died on 4 September 1975 at age 73.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Hertfordshire Regiment.2 He gained the rank of Deputy Assistant Adjutant & Quartermaster-General in the Madagascar.2 He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Hampden of Glynde, co. Sussex [U.K., 1884] on 17 October 1965.1
