     Archibald Campbell, 2nd of Stonefield was born circa 1697.1 He is the son of Reverend Alexander Campbell, 2nd of Auchincloich and Elspeth Campbell.2 He married Jane Frend, daughter of Benjamin Frend and Bridget Kynaston, on 14 October 1732.3,1 He died on 19 August 1777.1
     He was a practising Advocate.2 He held the office of Sheriff-Depute of Argyll.2 He lived at Stonefield, Argyllshire, ScotlandG.2

     Reverend Alexander Campbell, 2nd of Auchincloich was the son of Archibald Campbell and Catherine Stewart.2 He married, secondly, Elspeth Campbell, daughter of Sir John Campbell of Glenorchy, 4th Bt. and Elizabeth Campbell.1 He married, firstly, Margaret Campbell, daughter of John Campbell, 9th Captain of Dunstaffnage and Isobel Campbell, in November 1670.3 He died in 1698.3
     He graduated from Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, in 1657 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)3 He was Minister between 1666 and 1689 at Kilmore in Lorne, Scotland.3
