William James Maitland was born on 22 July 1847.2 He was the son of Augustus Maitland and Elizabeth Jane Richards.2 He married Agnes Magdalene Neville-Grenville, daughter of Ralph Neville-Grenville and Julia Roberta Frankland-Russell, on 7 August 1878.1 He died on 8 May 1919 at age 71.
