     He was awarded the Gold Mejidieh for gallantry in crossing the Danube.1 He gained the rank of in the Royal Engineers.1 He fought in the Crimean War.1

     Reverend Henry Peter Higginson was born on 26 April 1837 at Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland.1 He was the son of Henry Higginson and Anna Rountree.1 He married, firstly, Annabella James, daughter of Reverend John James and Annette Hatton, in 1862 at Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He and Annabella James were divorced on 6 March 1886 at Wayne County, Michigan, U.S.A.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Charlotte Bateman-Hanbury, daughter of William Bateman-Hanbury, 1st Baron Bateman of Shobdon and Elizabeth Chichester, on 2 June 1886 at Geneva, SwitzerlandG.1 He married, thirdly, Mary Elizabeth Annie Dunne, daughter of Captain John Joseph Dunne and Isabella George-Bynon, in October 1888 at Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.G.1 He died on 16 June 1889 at age 52 at Slotnaes Park, Oslo, Norway.1
     His marriage to Hon. Charlotte Bateman-Hanbury was annulled in September 1887.1 His name was legally changed to Henry Peter Higginson-Whyte-Melville by Deed Poll.1

     Anne Celestine Burke was born in 1838 at St. Clerans, County Galway, Ireland.2 She was the daughter of James Hardiman Burke and Anne O'Hara.3 She married, firstly, Major Francis Horatio de Vere, son of Sir Aubrey de Vere, 2nd Bt. and Mary Rice, in 1856.1 She married Reverend Charlton Maxwell, son of Reverend Peter Benson Maxwell and Hester Emily O'Hara, on 20 February 1873.2 She died in December 1914 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.2
     From 1856, her married name became de Vere.1 From 1873, her married name became Maxwell. From 20 February 1873, her married name became Maxwell.2 She lived at Issercleran, Craughwell, County Galway, IrelandG.1

Herbert William Studd, son of Edward Studd and Dorothy Sophia Thomas, on 19 April 1894.1 She died on 14 May 1930.1
