William Brereton was the son of Roger Brereton and unknown Bulkeley.2 He and Jane Blount obtained a marriage license on 19 January 1662.1 He died in 1692.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 12 January 1692.1
He gained the rank of Cornet in the Dragoons.1 He lived at Carrigslaney, County Carlow, IrelandG.1 He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Carlow in 1676.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Carlow in 1686.1 His last will was dated 29 September 1691.1
