Marie Amalie Prinzessin von Kurland was born on 12 June 1653.1 She was the daughter of Jakob Kettler Herzog von Kurland and Luise Charlotte von Hohenzollern.2 She married Karl I Landgraf von Hessen-Kassel, son of Wilhelm VI Landgraf von Hessen-Kassel and Hedwig Sohpie Prinzessin von Brandenburg, on 21 May 1673.1 She died on 16 June 1711 at age 58.1

James Gordon was the son of George Gordon and unknown daughter Hay.2,3 He married Marjory Menzies, daughter of Sir Thomas Menzies.1 He died in 1582.1
In 1567 he rallied to the defence of the young Prince James (King James VI of Scotland and I of Britain) towards the end of the effective reign of Mary Queen of Scots.1 He joined the 4th Earl of Huntly and remained loyal to the Queen.1
