Oxford [E., 1721] on 28 July 1727.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt, co. Oxford [E., 1711] on 28 July 1727.1 He held the office of a Lord of the Bedchamber between 1735 and 1751.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1745.1 He was created 1st Viscount Nuneham of Nuneham Courtney, co. Oxford [Great Britain] on 1 December 1749.1 He was created 1st Earl Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt, co. Hon. Simon Harcourt was born circa 1685.2 He was the son of Simon Harcourt, 1st Viscount Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt and Rebecca Clark.1,3 He married Elizabeth Evelyn, daughter of John Evelyn and Martha Spencer.1 He died on 1 July 1720.2
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wallingford between 1710 and 1713.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 13 December 1712 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Abingdon between 1713 and 1715.4 In 1719 he bought the Nuneham Courtney estate from 4th Earl of Wemyss for £17,000.2

Rebecca Clark was the daughter of Reverend Thomas Clark. She married Simon Harcourt, 1st Viscount Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt, son of Sir Philip Harcourt and Anne Waller, on 18 October 1680.1 She died circa 13 May 1687. She was buried on 16 May 1687.
