Sir James Makgill of Rankeillour1

     Sir James Makgill of Rankeillour was the son of Sir James Makgill and Helen Wardlaw.2 He married Janet Adamson, daughter of William Adamson of Craigcrook, in 1540.1 He died before 15 August 1579.1
     He acquired lands in Fifeshire, Forfarshire, Galloway and Lothian.1 He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1539.1 He held the office of Clerk Registrar in 1554, and was temporarily dismissed for implication in the murder of Rizzio.1 He held the office of a Lord of Session in 1554.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1561.1 He fought in the Battle of Langside in 1568, against Queen Mary of Scots.1 He held the office of Scottish Ambassador to England between 1570 and 1572.1 He held the office of Lord Provost of Edinburgh in October 1570.1 He lived at Rankeillour, Fife, ScotlandG.1

     Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss was the son of Sir John Wemyss of Wemyss and Margaret Otterburn.2 A contract for the marriage of Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss and Cecilia Ruthven was signed on 7 May 1556.2 He died on 22 February 1596/97.2

William Palliser Costobadie1

     William Palliser Costobadie was born in 1854.1 He was the son of Major James Palliser Costobadie and Laura Kingston.1 He married Mary Hotchkin in 1887 at Horncastle, Lincolnshire, England.1 He died in 1922 at St. Columb, Cornwall, England.1
