John Bonham was born on 21 June 1769.1 He was the son of Francis Warren Bonham and Mary Anne Leslie.2 He married Margaret Jones on 10 October 1796.1 He died on 24 November 1844 at age 75.1
In 1801 he was confined in Tower of Lond with Lord Cloncurry and other state prisoners implicated in the Despard plot. He was later discharged.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Kildare in 1835.1 He lived at Ballintaggart, Colbinstown, County Kildare, IrelandG.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Kildare.1
