     Lt.-Col. Ion Malise Goff was born on 2 February 1902.¹ He was the son of Ewen Cameron Robert Goff and Ellen Clara Constable.² He married Dorothea June Taylor, daughter of Lt.-Col. P. H. M. Taylor, on 30 March 1940.¹ He died on 15 May 1944 at age 42 at Monte Cassino, Italy^G, killed in action.¹
     He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G, RMA Sandhurst.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the King's Regiment.¹ He was commander of the London Irish Battalion.¹

     Dorothea June Taylor is the daughter of Lt.-Col. P. H. M. Taylor.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Ion Malise Goff, son of Ewen Cameron Robert Goff and Ellen Clara Constable, on 30 March 1940.¹
     From 30 March 1940, her married name became Goff.
