John Godley1

     John Godley was born in 1651.1 He married, firstly, Susanna Holroyd.1 He married, secondly, Anne Elwood, daughter of William Elwood, in 1697.1 He died in 1710.1
     He was a merchant, probably in textiles.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Dublin in 1706.1 He held the office of Alderman of Dublin in 1707.1 He lived at Meath Street, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He had two daughters by his first wife, and an elder son (who died without issue ) and seven daughters by second wife.1

Reverend William Godley1

     Reverend William Godley was born in 1700.1 He was the son of John Godley and Anne Elwood.2 He married, firstly, Mary Morgan, daughter of Richard Morgan, in 1730.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth (?) in 1769.1 He died in 1779.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He held the office of Prebendary of Ballymore between 1733 and 1741.1 He held the office of Prebendary of Mullabrack, County Armagh between 1741 and 1779.1 He had two younger sons and two daughters by his first wife.1

Richard Morgan1

     Richard Morgan was Second Remembrancer of the Court of Exchequer.1 He was Agent to the Archbishop of Armagh.1 He lived at Coldcutt, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He purchased the Killegar estate in 1734.1

John Godley1

     John Godley was born on 3 February 1731.1 He was the son of Reverend William Godley and Mary Morgan.2 He married Rose McAulay, daughter of Alexander McAulay, on 25 April 1761.1 He died on 6 August 1806 at age 75.1
     He graduated with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.)1 He was a practising barrister.1 In 1784 he inherited the Killegar estate from his uncle, Richard Morgan.1 He lived at Sackville Street, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He lived at Tandragee, County Armagh, IrelandG.1

Lt.-Col. William Godley1

     Lt.-Col. William Godley was born in 1765.1 He was the son of John Godley and Rose McAulay.2 He married Adeline Ricardo, daughter of Reverend Francis Ricardo.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 83rd Regiment.1
