     Edward Augustus Stratford, 2nd Earl of Aldborough was born circa 1741.1 He was the son of John Stratford, 1st Earl of Aldborough and Martha O'Neale.1 He married, firstly, Barbara Herbert, daughter of Hon. Nicholas Herbert and Anne North, on 29 July 1765 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG, by Special License.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Anne Elizabeth Henniker, daughter of John Henniker, 1st Baron Henniker of Stratford-upon-Slaney and Anne Major, on 24 May 1787 at Grosvenor Square, Mayfair, London, EnglandG. She came with a fortune of £50,000.1 He was also reported to have been married on 24 March 1788.2 He died on 2 January 1801 at Belan, County Kildare, IrelandG, without issue.1 He was buried at St. Thomas', Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) in January 1803.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Baltinglass [Ireland] between 1759 and 1768.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Taunton in 1774, but he was unseated on a petition, for bribery.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Baltinglass [Ireland] between 1775 and 1777.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in May 1777.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Aldborough, of the Palatinate of Upper Ormond [I., 1777] on 29 June 1777.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron of Baltinglass, co. Wicklow [I., 1763] on 29 June 1777. He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Aldborough, of Belan, co. Kildare [I., 1776] on 29 June 1777. He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Amiens [I., 1777] on 29 June 1777. He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Laws (D.C.L.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 3 July 1777.1 He held the office of a Governor of County Wicklow in 1778.1 In 1800 he voted in favour of the Irish Union.1 His last will was dated from 14 September 1800 to 5 October 1800.

Barbara Herbert1

     Barbara Herbert was born in July 1742.1 She was the daughter of Hon. Nicholas Herbert and Anne North.1 She married Edward Augustus Stratford, 2nd Earl of Aldborough, son of John Stratford, 1st Earl of Aldborough and Martha O'Neale, on 29 July 1765 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG, by Special License.1 She died on 11 April 1785 at age 42, from apoplexy, without issue.1 She was buried at Great Glemham, Suffolk, EnglandG.1
     From 29 July 1765, her married name became Stratford.1 After her marriage, Barbara Herbert was styled as Countess of Aldborough on 29 June 1777.

     Hon. Nicholas Herbert was the son of Thomas Herbert, 8th Earl of Pembroke and Margaret Sawyer.1,2 He married Anne North, daughter of Dudley North and Catherine Yale, on 19 July 1737.3 He died in 1775.2
     He lived at Great Glemham, Suffolk, EnglandG.1

     Anne North was the daughter of Dudley North and Catherine Yale.1,2 She married Hon. Nicholas Herbert, son of Thomas Herbert, 8th Earl of Pembroke and Margaret Sawyer, on 19 July 1737.3
     From 19 July 1737, her married name became Herbert.

Hon. Anne Elizabeth Henniker1

     Hon. Anne Elizabeth Henniker was the daughter of John Henniker, 1st Baron Henniker of Stratford-upon-Slaney and Anne Major.1 She married, firstly, Edward Augustus Stratford, 2nd Earl of Aldborough, son of John Stratford, 1st Earl of Aldborough and Martha O'Neale, on 24 May 1787 at Grosvenor Square, Mayfair, London, EnglandG. She came with a fortune of £50,000.1 She was also reported to have been married on 24 March 1788.2 She married, secondly, George Powell in December 1801.1 She died on 14 July 1802 at Aldborough House, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, without issue.1 She died intestate and her estate was administered in January 1803.1
     After her marriage, Hon. Anne Elizabeth Henniker was styled as Countess of Aldborough on 24 May 1787. From 24 May 1787, her married name became Stratford.1 From December 1801, her married name became Powell.1

John Henniker, 1st Baron Henniker of Stratford-upon-Slaney1

     John Henniker, 1st Baron Henniker of Stratford-upon-Slaney was the son of John Henniker and Hannah Swanson.2 He married Anne Major, daughter of Sir John Major, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Dale, on 24 February 1746/47.2 He died on 18 April 1803.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sudbury between 1761 and 1768.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dover between 1774 and 1778.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Major, of Worlingworth Hall, Suffolk [G.B., 1765] on 22 February 1781.2 He was created 1st Baron Henniker of Stratford-upon-Slaney, co. Wicklow [Ireland] on 31 July 1800.2

     Anne Major was the daughter of Sir John Major, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Dale.1,2 She married John Henniker, 1st Baron Henniker of Stratford-upon-Slaney, son of John Henniker and Hannah Swanson, on 24 February 1746/47.3 She died on 18 July 1792.3
     From 24 February 1746/47, her married name became Henniker.3

Sir John Major, 1st Bt.1

     Sir John Major, 1st Bt. was born on 17 May 1698.2 He was the son of John Major and Elizabeth Tennant.3 He married Elizabeth Dale, daughter of Daniel Dale, on 20 January 1723/24.2 He died on 22 February 1781 at age 82.2
     He held the office of Elder Brother of Trinity House between 1741 and 1781.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Suffolk in 1754.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Scarborough between 1761 and 1768.2 He was created 1st Baronet Major, of Worlingworth Hall, Suffolk [Great Britain] on 15 July 1765, with a special remainder to his son-in-law, John Henniker.1,2
