     Sir Christopher Croft was the son of Christopher Croft and Elizabeth Barton.2 He married, firstly, Cecilia Wilford, daughter of Reverend James Wilford and Elizabeth Ashenden.3 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Harrison, daughter of Robert Harrison, on 21 November 1613 at St. Michael's, Micklegate, Yorkshire, England.1,3 He died on 5 July 1649.1
     He held the office of Sheriff of York in 1618.1 He held the office of Lord Mayor of York in 1629.1 In 1641 he entertained King Charles I at his home.1 He held the office of Lord Mayor of York in 1641.1 He was appointed Knight on 20 November 1641.1,3

     From 21 November 1613, her married name became Croft.
