Francis Moffat Hampton was born in 1895.1 He is the son of Joseph Henry Hampton and Mary Troughton.1 He married Jennie Haley in 1921.2
Richard, William, Margaret, Joseph, Mary, Robert, Isabella, Francis and Sarah immigrated with his parents to Lyttelton, Canterbury, New ZealandG, on the ship Corinthic, arriving 26 December 1909.3 Francis served in the 1st NZEF circa 1915.2 He was a farmer from 1919 to 1925 at Homebrook, East Cape, New ZealandG.2 He and Robert Hampton were a butcher from 1925 to 1933 at Riccarton, Christchurch, New ZealandG.2 He was a fruit shop and dairy owner after 1933.2
