Sir Robert Alexander Baillie of Polkemmet, 4th Bt. was born on 24 August 1859.1 He was the son of Thomas Baillie and Elizabeth Ballingall.1 He married Isabel Wilkie, daughter of David Elliot Wilkie, on 13 July 1887.1 He died on 16 October 1907 at age 48.1
He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the Australian Squadron, King's Colonial Imperial Yeomanry.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Baillie, of Polkemmet, Linlithgowshire [U.K., 1823] on 2 April 1896.1

Susan Silence North, on 4 November 1965.1 He and Susan Donne Beauchamp were divorced in 1969.3 He married, secondly, Suzanne Adrienne Byrne, daughter of Alan Gray Byrne, in 1973.1 He died on 27 August 2009 at age 67.4
