Anne Astley was the daughter of Sir Jacob Henry Astley, 5th Bt. and Hester Browne.1 She married Thomas Potter Macqueen, son of Dr. Malcolm Macqueen and Mariana Potter, in 1820.1 She died in 1833 at FranceG.1,2

Thomas Potter Macqueen was born in 1791 at Segenhoe Manor, Ridgmont, Bedfordshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Dr. Malcolm Macqueen and Mariana Potter.2 He married Anne Astley, daughter of Sir Jacob Henry Astley, 5th Bt. and Hester Browne, in 1820.1 He died on 31 March 1854 at Queen's Hotel, Oswestry, Shropshire, EnglandG, from apoplexy.2 His will was proven (by probate) on 22 March 1856.2
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Looe between 1816 and 1826.1,2 He lived at Ridgemont, Bedfordshire, EnglandG.1 His last will was dated 1820.2 In 1824 he established a 20,000 acre property in the Hunter District, New South Wales, through a remote manager.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bedfordshire between 1826 and 1830.2 Before 1845 he travelled to Australia to (unsuccessfully) rescue his property venture there.2 He lived at Caen, FranceG.2
