Major William Mainwaring-Burton was born on 11 July 1881.1 He was the son of William Fitzwilliam Burton and Georgina Spencer Wellesley.2,3 He married Dorothy Constance Oliphant, daughter of Reverend Frederick James Oliphant and Constance Beresford, on 2 June 1912.2 He was also reported to have been married on 2 July 1912.1 He died on 6 March 1964 at age 82.4
