     Sir John Banks, 1st and last Bt. was born circa 1627.2 He was the son of Caleb Bankes and Martha Dann.2 He married Elizabeth Dethick, daughter of Sir John Dethick and Martha Travers, circa 1657.2 He died on 18 October 1699, without surviving male issue.2 His will was proven (by probate) on 11 December 1699.2
     He was also known as Sir John Bankes.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Maidstone between 1654 and 1659.2 He was created 1st Baronet Bankes, of the city of London [England] on 22 August 1661.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Winchelsea between February 1677/78 and March 1677/78.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Rochester between 1679 and 1690.2 He lived in 1681 at Aylesford, Kent, EnglandG.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Queensborough between 1690 and 1695.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Maidstone between 1695 and 1698.2 His last will was dated from 22 November 1697 to 7 October 1699.
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3

     Heneage Finch, 4th Earl of Aylesford was born on 4 July 1751 at Sion House, London, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Heneage Finch, 3rd Earl of Aylesford and Lady Charlotte Seymour.1 He was baptised on 15 July 1751 at Isleworth, London, EnglandG.2 He married Lady Louisa Thynne, daughter of Thomas Thynne, 1st Marquess of Bath and Lady Elizabeth Cavendish-Bentinck, on 18 November 1781.2 He died on 21 October 1812 at age 61 at Packington, Warwickshire, EnglandG, from gout in the stomach.2
     He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 13 November 1767.2 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 16 June 1770 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Castle Rising between 1772 and 1774.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) on 25 February 1773.2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Laws (D.C.L.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 7 July 1773.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)      Lady Louisa Thynne was born on 25 March 1760.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Thynne, 1st Marquess of Bath and Lady Elizabeth Cavendish-Bentinck.1 She married Heneage Finch, 4th Earl of Aylesford, son of Heneage Finch, 3rd Earl of Aylesford and Lady Charlotte Seymour, on 18 November 1781.1 She died on 28 December 1832 at age 72.1
     From 18 November 1781, her married name became Finch. After her marriage, Lady Louisa Thynne was styled as Countess of Aylesford on 18 November 1781.

     Lady Henrietta Louisa Greville was born in 1785.3 She was the daughter of George Greville, 2nd Earl of Warwick and Henrietta Vernon.1,3 She married Thomas Scott, 2nd Earl of Clonmell, son of John Henry Scott, 1st Earl of Clonmell and Margaret Lawless, on 9 February 1805 at Hill Street, Berkeley Square, London, EnglandG.1,3 She died on 8 November 1838 at St. Leonard's-on-Sea, Sussex, EnglandG.3 Her will was proven (by probate) on 9 December 1858, at under £60,000.3
     After her marriage, Lady Henrietta Louisa Greville was styled as Countess of Clonmell on 9 February 1805. From 9 February 1805, her married name became Scott.

     Thomas Scott, 2nd Earl of Clonmell was born on 15 August 1783.1 He was the son of John Henry Scott, 1st Earl of Clonmell and Margaret Lawless.1 He married Lady Henrietta Louisa Greville, daughter of George Greville, 2nd Earl of Warwick and Henrietta Vernon, on 9 February 1805 at Hill Street, Berkeley Square, London, EnglandG.1,2 He died on 18 January 1838 at age 54 at North Aston, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1,2 He was buried at Marylebone, London, EnglandG.2
     He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Clonmell, co. Tipperary [I., 1793] on 23 May 1798.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Earlsfort of Lisson-Earl, co. Tipperary [I., 1784] on 23 May 1798.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Clonmell [I., 1789] on 23 May 1798.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Romney between 1807 and 1812.2
     He had six other daughters.1

     Jane Wightwick Knightley was the daughter of John Wightwick Knightley.1 She married Heneage Finch, 6th Earl of Aylesford, son of Heneage Finch, 5th Earl of Aylesford and Lady Augusta Sophia Greville, on 7 May 1846 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 21 October 1911.2
     Her married name became Finch. After her marriage, Jane Wightwick Knightley was styled as Countess of Aylesford on 3 January 1859.

     Heneage Finch, 7th Earl of Aylesford was born on 21 February 1849 at Upper Brook Street, St. George Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Heneage Finch, 6th Earl of Aylesford and Jane Wightwick Knightley.1 He married Edith Peers-Williams, daughter of Lt.-Col. Thomas Peers Williams and Emily Bacon, on 8 January 1871 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 He and Edith Peers-Williams were separated on 22 May 1877.1 He died on 13 January 1885 at age 35 at Big Springs, Howard County, Texas, U.S.A.G, without male issue.1 He was buried at Packington Church, Packington, Warwickshire, EnglandG.
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 7th Earl of Aylesford, co. Kent [G.B., 1714] on 10 January 1871.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baron of Guernsey [E., 1703] on 10 January 1871.1 In 1874 at Packington, Warwickshire, EnglandG, he entertained the Prince of Wales.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Warwickshire.2 His last will was dated 2 September 1882.1
