     James Tottenham Butler was born on 4 June 1868.1 He was the son of James Butler and Mary Elizabeth Alley.1 He married Geraldine Blanche Maude Osborne, daughter of Henry St. George Osborne and Louisa Mary Catherine Smith, in 1906.1 He died on 17 May 1928 at age 59, without issue.1,2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 5th Battalion, Leinster Regiment.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Priestown, IrelandG.1
