Nicholas Francis Archdale was born on 19 February 1862.1 He was the son of Nicholas Montgomery Archdale and Adelaide Mary Porter.1 He married, firstly, Alice Egerton, daughter of Philip Henry Egerton and Mary Marjoribanks, on 1 April 1887.1 He married, secondly, Adelaide Kewley, daughter of Reverend Robert Rigby Kewley.1 He was also reported to have been married on 19 April 1887.2

Lt.-Col. Theodore Montgomery Archdale was born on 24 September 1873.1 He was the son of Nicholas Montgomery Archdale and Adelaide Mary Porter.1 He married Helen Alexander Russel, daughter of Alexander Russel, on 9 October 1901.1 He died on 10 October 1918 at age 45, in the sinking of the Leinster.1
He was educated at Repton School, Repton, Derbyshire, EnglandG.1 He entered the military in 1894, in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was appointed Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1900.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.1
