Josephine Maria Bancroft1

     Josephine Maria Bancroft was the daughter of Peter Bancroft and Georgina Chappell.1 She married, firstly, Thomas Samuel Pakenham, son of Reverand Robert Pakenham and Harriet Maria Browne, on 4 January 1858.1 She married, secondly, Captain Robert Conway Dobbs Ellis on 9 May 1866.1 She was also reported to have been married on 4 January 1859.2 She died in 1889.1
     She gained the rank of Captain in the 22nd Regiment.2 From 4 January 1858, her married name became Pakenham.1 From 9 May 1866, her married name became Ellis.1

     Thomas Samuel Pakenham was born on 3 May 1830.2 He was the son of Reverand Robert Pakenham and Harriet Maria Browne.1,2 He married Josephine Maria Bancroft, daughter of Peter Bancroft and Georgina Chappell, on 4 January 1858.1 He was also reported to have been married on 4 January 1859.2 He died on 11 August 1863 at age 33.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Antrim.2 He lived at Glen Oak, County Antrim, IrelandG.1

     Reverand Robert Pakenham was born on 4 June 1799.2 He was the son of Admiral Hon. Sir Thomas Pakenham and Louisa Anne Staples.3 He married, firstly, Harriet Maria Browne, daughter of Rt. Hon. Denis Browne and Anne Mahon, on 30 June 1829.4 He married, secondly, Elizabeth (?) on 28 September 1865.4 He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Whitelaw, daughter of Robert Whitelaw, on 6 July 1876.4 He died on 30 December 1883 at age 84.4
     He was the Vicar at Straffan, County Kildare, IrelandG.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1

     Major Peter Henson Bancroft was born in 1877 at AustraliaG.2 He was the son of Lieutenant Henson Bancroft and Matilda Isles.1 He married, firstly, Florence Adolphine Jackson, daughter of Henry Vincent Jackson and Arabella Edie, on 14 November 1901.2 He married, secondly, Constance Jackson, daughter of Henry Vincent Jackson and Arabella Edie, in 1928, she was the sister of his first wife.2 He died in 1969.2
     He was educated at Tonbridge School, Tonbridge, Kent, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Major in the East Surrey Regiment.2 He lived at The Grove, Stocklinch, Somerset, EnglandG.1,2

     Florence Adolphine Jackson was the daughter of Henry Vincent Jackson and Arabella Edie.1 She married Major Peter Henson Bancroft, son of Lieutenant Henson Bancroft and Matilda Isles, on 14 November 1901.1 She died in May 1962.1
     From 14 November 1901, her married name became Bancroft.1
