     Colonel Walter Lorenzo Alexander was born on 8 September 1872.1 He was the son of George Alexander and Susan Henn Collins.1 He married Alice Mabel Tweedie, daughter of Colonel Maurice Tweedie, on 17 February 1902.1 He died on 15 May 1915 at age 42 at Festubert, Pas-de-Calais, FranceG, killed in action.1
     He was educated at Denstone College, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Tirah Expedition between 1897 and 1898, he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the Boer War, mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was the Commanding Officer of the 2nd Battalion Green Howards in 1914.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Yorkshire Regiment.1 He fought in the Battle of Festubert on 15 May 1915 at Festubert, Pas-de-Calais, FranceG.1

     Alice Mabel Tweedie is the daughter of Colonel Maurice Tweedie.1 She married, firstly, Colonel Walter Lorenzo Alexander, son of George Alexander and Susan Henn Collins, on 17 February 1902.1 She married, secondly, Herbert Cyril Coaks, son of Herbert Coaks, on 1 February 1927.1
     From 17 February 1902, her married name became Alexander.1 From 1 February 1927, her married name became Coaks.1 As of 1976, Alice Mabel Tweedie lived at Flatropers, Beckley, Rye, Sussex, EnglandG.1
