     Lieutenant Francis Alexander was the son of Captain Caledon Du Pré Alexander and Caroline Ewing.¹ He married Caroline Mary Tremayne, daughter of Lt.-Col. Arthur Tremayne, on 31 January 1883.¹ He died on 5 November 1914.¹
